1966
In June of 1966, Robert T. Boyd Sr. founded Boyd Machine Co. Inc. in the basement of a family home.
When September came Mr. Boyd was in need of help. So BMCI hired some part time employees.
1967
As technology advances BMCI finds the need for new equipment. They purchase their first Retro-Fit NC Machine.
1968
BMCI had need for more room, so they moved out of the family basement in Lansdale, and into a bigger facility located in Hatfield.
BMCI purchases a brand new NC Machine.
1969
In 1969 BMCI was running out of space, Mr. Boyd decided to rent additional adjoining space.
1972
Business agreed with Mr. Boyd and in ’72 BMCI relocated to its very own, newly constructed 6,000 sq. ft. facility.
1980
Technology demands upgrades so in 1980 BMCI purchased the first of many CNC machining Centers.
1981
Success for BMCI meant even more space. So in 1981 an additional 12,000 Sq. Ft. were added on.
Since then
This was just the beginning for Boyd Machine. Over the next few years they would continue to grow. Replacing more NC machines with CNC machining centers. Going on to implement a CAD program to assist our engineers and programmers
In recent years, BMCI has tried to improve their standards of quality over and over again. In 2006 BMCI built a Controlled environment room to guarantee that products that leave our facility meet all requirements. Within the last year BMCI has also began to use CAM software, to help assist in the programming of our machines.
Under the continued guidance of Robert T. Boyd Jr. and with the help of qualified employees BMCI will continue to supply customers with products that exceed any expectations.
